Desmond Wing Ping Li

Dr. Desmond W.P. Li (Li Zheng) was a veteran investment banker before joining the academic industry. Mr. Li earned his B.Sc. in Accounting from De La Salle University (the Philippines), M.Sc. from London Business School (United Kingdom), PhD in Financial Engineering from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and Graduate Diploma in Law from Manchester Metropolitan University and the University of Hong Kong. Mr. Li is also a certified Financial Risk Manager (GARP) and a Professional Risk Manager (PRMIA). Before joining the academic industry, Mr. Li worked for JP Morgan (NYSE: JPM), Merrill Lynch (Nasdaq: MTTX) and Goldman Sachs (NYSE: GS). After retiring from the investment banking industry, Mr. Li was appointed by the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology as an Adjunct Professor and thereafter appointed by the Chinese University of Hong Kong as an Adjunct Professor, during the periods of which Mr. Li was awarded with the Best Teaching Award by both universities, respectively.
