Richard Harris

Richard Harris has been involved with International China Concern, a NGO for abandoned and disabled children in China since 1990 - even before its inception. He is also an international finance specialist who has pioneered Asian investment management at senior levels for large global and regional companies, such as JP Morgan (then Jardine Fleming), Citi, BNY Mellon - and several startups.

He has over 40 years of experience in a full range of investment and capital markets activities. He has managed multi-asset long, derivative, hedge, and mutual funds for sovereign, endowment, institutional, pension, private and retail clients. He is CEO of Port Shelter Investment Management, which consults to public and private Institutions, Boards and Family Offices - and has substantial regulatory, Board and China experience. As a consultant, his wide range of skills means that he provides significant value for money.

Richard has a decade's experience as the most widely experienced Asian financial expert witness in Asia, having testified or reported on cases in Hong Kong, SG, Australia, the UK, and the United States in civil and criminal cases, arbitrations and tribunals. He is a Practicing Member of the Academy of Experts.

Richard Harris is a prolific thinker and author and has a weekly column in the prestigious South China Morning Post. He is a Presenter of Radio Television HK’s “Money Talk”; and a regular Guest Host on CNBC Asia and Europe, and Bloomberg. His book, China’s Oasis is published in May 2018.

Mr. Harris holds a First Class Honour’s degree from King’s College London, Master’s in Engineering Geology from Imperial College, London and a Master in Business Administration degree from Harvard Business School. He is a PhD Candidate in Behavioural Finance at Cranfield University, UK. He holds further certificates from Peking and Stanford Universities.

Richard is an aerobatic private pilot and a rugby player of some 55 years’ standing.
