Gargatholil

Gargatholil grew up in the fifties and sixties and in 1967 they "freaked out" and joined the Counterculture. While Gargatholil's interest in music and philosophy began at an earlier age, their Counterculture experience greatly expanded their musical awareness and even more greatly expanded their awareness of the Multi-verse. Gargatholil's interest in astrology began during this period, also. Gargatholil abandoned agnosticism and philosophical skepticism in 1968 after being gifted with a profound realization of the Oneness of All. That Realization has informed their approach to astrology, spirituality, music, literature and everything else ever since.

Gargatholil began writing poetry, essays and short stories in high school, culminating with a prize-winning senior essay, "The Art of Schizophrenic Thinking," which explored the necessity to simultaneously hold a realization of life's absurdity and its seriousness. They resumed creative writing in the late 1980s. The poems from this period were later published as "The Trembling Tear--Songs of the Inner Voice" (currently available on Smashwords.com). In the mid-1990s, disappointed by the selection of deterministic and superficial astrology handbooks, Gargatholil decided to compose one themself. Originally posted on their website, www.depthastrology.com, this work was published as the 4-volume "Depth Astrology: An Astrological Handbook." "Sign-to-Sign Dynamics: A Depth Astrology Approach" followed to explore the energetics between Zodiac signs.

Even as Gargatholil was composing astrology texts, they were contemplating and began writing a commentary on the meanings of songs that had exploded into the Counterculture in the Sixties. Blessed with a gift of intuitive insight, Gargatholil had long heard the esoteric, spiritual, mystical messages in these songs. They are convinced that they are not alone in this and so, "The Pouring, or How the Universal Mind Reached Out to a Generation: A Commentary on the Lyrics of the Sixties" was born.

Gargatholil's interest in astrology began more than 40 years ago with his discovery of the works of Dane Rudhyar and Alan Leo. In the 1980s, Gargatholil;s knowledge of astrology was further informed by the writing of Donna Cunningham, Stephen Arroyo and Liz Greene. Gargatholil has always appreciated astrology as a tool for self-knowledge and personal growth. He believes, while transits may be valuable for understanding the "astrol weather" one is experiencing, it is the natal chart that holds the key to interpreting the drives and motivations, qualities, internal conflicts and challenges, and potential of the personality resident in this lifetime. Gargatholil has long rejected using astrology to attempt to predict the future on both practical and spiritual grounds.

Gargatholil has a Libra Sun and Taurus Ascendant (both ruled by Venus), with Moon in Capricorn in the tenth house (both ruled by Saturn) cusp Aquarius (ruled by Uranus). The primary rulers of Gargatholil's chart, Venus and Saturn, are conjunct in Virgo, while the Moon forms the point of a Yod to Saturn and Uranus. Understandably, Gargatholil has a straight gig and does not wish his identity to be revealed. They also are grateful to have been blessed with the capacity to bring the content of the Higher Mind to a more concrete and structured level.

Gargatholil has eclectic taste in music. Their criteria for considering something worthwhile listening to boils down to "as long as she's been doin' it right."

So, now, how did Gargatholil come about? One day, riding home from the beach, a conversation started about our children's names seeming to fit their personalities. I was asked if I thought my name fit me and I answered, no. Asked what name I thought did fit me, I thought awhile until Gargatholil came to me. Now, I am a big fan of Tolkien and was reading the Ring series to my children and Gargatholil does have an Elvish ring to it. The name starts deep and ends light and I relate to that.
