Dave Taylor, a retired journalist, is a full-time author. He has spent the better part of 51 years performing in concerts with a weekend gospel music ensemble, The Infinite Realm, while making a living in construction, broadcast and newspaper journalism, motorsports announcing from Hawaii to New York State, and in public relations.
In addition to penning his latest book, The Miles Before They Slept, about the lives of the eight young nurses who were murdered in a South Chicago townhouse in 1966, he has written and published three editions of Happy Rhythm: A Biography of Hovie Lister & the Statesmen Quartet about the history of southern gospel music as seen through the career of one of the genre’s top pioneer artists. Dave is the author of With Bowie Knives & Pistols, about Confederate General John Hunt Morgan’s 1863 cavalry raid in Indiana during the Civil War; Murder in the House of God, a true story from rural Indiana in 1877-78; Ripples Over the Dike, a collection of true adventures in the historic past of the Ohio River Valley; and Hollywood Came Running about the making of the movie “Some Came Running” in Madison, Indiana, in 1958, starring Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Shirley MacLaine. Dave also wrote and produced a 2-CD audio documentary featuring 36 voices, music beds and sound effects called "Morgan's Coming!" for the John Hunt Morgan Heritage Trail Project in Indiana.
Dave served as a script consultant for the 2001 movie “Madison” about the 1971 American Power Boat Association Gold Cup race won by the underdog hometown racing team Miss Madison.
