Hi, I'm Tara F. Mozee! I'm a first grade teacher and author, and I earned a B.S. in business management and M.Ed. of curriculum and instruction degrees from the University of Phoenix while working full-time as a community relations coordinator for a major healthcare company.
But my love for learning and teaching little ones inspired me to switch gears to pursue a career in education. After 12 years as a kindergarten and first grade teacher, I am still passionate about helping young students develop a solid foundation of learning and decision-making skills. I've even had the privilege of highlighting the accomplishments of some of my students in articles for local community newspaper, "All Around Pennsauken."
As an educator, I believe in equipping students for the next level of education through the use of technology, modeling, and practice. In the classroom, I encourage students to begin the journey to becoming lifelong learners who are able to make positive contributions to society. I take pride in teaching my students to work hard and build their self-esteem as they learn new skills.
My first children’s book, "Don’t Wash My Hair!" is a lighthearted but insightful look at how little people begin learning skills for confident decision-making. My second book, "Gracie's New Class" follows Gracie as she enters a new grade and makes a special friend in her new class. The story shows how setting and achieving goals can help students confidently face new experiences and overcome back to school worries.
Life in the Garden State is full of opportunities to learn and grow with my husband and three daughters. I love writing catchy songs and singing them for my girls—who think my real job should be writing jingles. I'm an active member of my church, where I enjoy helping teach young children.
