Mr Paul Alan Grosse

I was born in Derby (UK) in the early 1960's, going to the local schools and writing my first computer program in 1974. After the sixth form, I went to work at the local chemical factory as an analyst in the labs, moving to their research facility and then getting made redundant.

I worked in a number of bands as a musician and running some of them, playing anything from pop music through to modern jazz. I also worked as Derby's Pavement Artist, appearing on the television series 'What's My Line' and beating the panel. I was then cherry picked to go back to work at the chemical plant, again as an analyst. I was then promoted to 'Process Development Chemist' and then things started getting weird. You can read about what happened to me in the book 'Let The Devil Wear Black' which I wrote under the pen name 'James F Linden'.

Since then: I have written a number of time-sliced computer models and used them to optimised special effects for television; Guest-lectured at the University of Derby's BSc Forensic Science and Law Degree courses on biometrics and on computer fraud; I've worked as a journalist in computer security, also writing the HelpDesk pages for PC Plus magazine; and designed Indian fonts that have been used in films, books, posters, newspapers and so on. I now paint, write computer programs and devise difficult puzzle books amongst other things.
