John Martin Hatch

A native of Washington State, I grew up devouring every form of science fiction I could from Saturday morning serials at the movie house, to novels by Heinlein, Bradbury, Asimov, and so many other great writers. As a kid, every spare penny went towards a trip to the drug store to purchase Fantastic Universe, Fantasy and Science Fiction, Analog Science Fiction and Fantasy – whatever I could get my hands on.

After a long career in engineering, my wife, Barb, and I retired to the Long Beach Peninsula on the southwest Washington coast. The scenery is inspiring, but also very distracting. With the encouragement of Barb, Keir the sheltie, and Peche the cat, I transitioned from technical writing to creative writing. Of course the genre had to be Science Fiction.

ICE MOON, A Su Li O’Bannion Saga, is my first novel. But there are many others in my head (and on my computer) waiting to get out into the world.
