William D. Bramlett

William D. Bramlett was my grandfather's name and is my pen name. I am Dale Cox. I've lived the past 45 years in Minnesota. I grew up living in several states in the southeastern U.S. My writing began with junior and high school publications. Poetry and song lyrics in college were my escape from the often required class papers. After a career of transforming business ideas into legal documents, I have, at last, settled into a passion for writing novels. An author of historical fiction, my characters and subjects are born from a love of history along with extensive travels throughout nearly every continent on the globe. A lifelong student reading history and studying geography, I am also a dedicated outdoorsman who loves dogs and watching birds. Easy to admit, my family is more important than all the above.

I am the author of "Shorty," the story of a black man who lived in northern Mississippi during the Great Depression in the 1930s. This novel honors Shorty, who helped my dad's white family survive, teaching them the value of treating all people equally. Based on true stories, "Shorty" speaks out against racism and prejudice.

My second book is "Rose Mountain." Three young American soldiers during World War II accept a near-impossible mission. Growing up in Pennsylvania, in German speaking families, they are chosen to infiltrate Hitler's nuclear weapons project. Their task is to destroy the weapon and kidnap the scientist in charge. Assisted by a formidable Belgian Major, they are pursued across Germany by a ruthless German officer.

"The King's Feast" is my third novel and the first in the "King's Feast Trilogy." A visit to the home of Mary Queen of Scots in Edinburgh, Scotland and the site of her tomb at Westminster Abbey inspired me to create an alternate outcome for her life. Dead Kings, Queens and Royals trapped between life and eternity come to the King's Feast each year at Westminster Abbey. Mary Queen of Scots calls Francis Ramsay from 250 years in the future to her aid. He enters the 16th-century accompanied by spirits and hollow-eyes seekers to help her achieve Resolution.

"Queen Elizabeth's Feast," the sequel to "The King's Feast." Queen Elizabeth I has broken an agreement with Mary Queen of Scots. The Spanish Armada attacks England. Francis Ramsay, from "The King's Feast," is charged with rescuing the kidnapped Prince of Scotland, James. Francis' efforts are complicated by concern for another, more dear to him. An ancient Queen from the King's Feast aids Queen Elizabeth I, offering help from the Plantagenet Kings, her three sons. Spirits, fairies and Gypsies complete the cast of characters.

"Emma and the King," book three of "The King's Feast" Series. Prince James of Scotland becomes King of England. A hollow-eyed seeker from the King's Feast delivers a message to James' lifelong friend, Emma. She and her father, Francis Ramsay, attend the mysterious King's Feast. Emma accepts a dangerous task, helped by her adopted sister, Elena and an ancient knight, called from 200 years before they were born. Fiona, an old friend of Francis, and a secret hidden inside the Lady's Chapel at Westminster Abbey, provide clues for Emma. But the Spirit of Death and evil men stand in her way.

"Fiona" is a prequel to "The King's Feast." It tells the life story of a character in "The King's Feast." Mistreated, nine-year-old Finnola leaves home to become a woman of the forest and a healer. Living with a noble family, she becomes a woman of wealth, but life leads her back to the forest. Fearing sorcery and witchcraft, the people turn against her.

"Robert Feller and the Lion Bully" A children's picture book. Wilder is seven years old. He lives in the United States with his parents. Life is plenty exciting, but his parents have a friend living in Africa who offers the thrill of his lifetime. Robert Feller is a well-known African safari guide. He invites Wilder to help capture a lion that is bullying the other lions. But the famous safari guide does not like to hurt animals. They must catch the lion alive. Lions and other jungle animals chase Wilder, Robert Feller, and his African friend, Momburu. They camp in the jungle, eating pancakes for every breakfast. A bit of danger and some good fun along the way make for Wilder's most exciting adventure ever. But will they capture the lion bully?
