Welcome to my Author's Page and I hope you enjoy reading Grapes of Fortune, VInes of Promise and The Last Vintage.

When I reached seventy, I thought, "What shall I do now? I know, I'll write the book I have always thought I could." Until that moment, I had never found the time and inclination coinciding!

My characters were waiting for me in my head as over the years I had spent many happy hours researching the Severn family who became the wine merchants and restaurateurs in Nottingham and whose legacy to the town is the medieval, timber framed Severns building, carefully removed, restored and repositioned from Middle Pavement to opposite Nottingham Castle. I have thoroughly enjoyed letting my imagination run wild with how so much of their lives might have been lived.

I found it a lot harder to write than I thought I would! I'd spent a year or so writing a blog and enjoyed producing 1000 words a week on any topic that popped into my mind at the time, but this was a whole different process. However, I have loved it and I hope you enjoy reading the first book in the Severn Family Saga. I now have the writing bug and am well underway planning book two which will follow the family through the most part of the nineteenth century.

Finding the time is still hard, in my retirement I spend my life flitting between Berkshire and the south of France and can often be seen scribbling in the lounge at Gatwick!
