Drew Bent grew up in sunny California, but his infant years were spent in New York City and may have been the most formative: he still walks quickly, folds his pizza, and puts more cream cheese than bagel on sandwiches. Other life experiences that shaped him include being raised by a single mother as a kid, biking across the country, and tutoring third graders at a community center in Cambridge. Drew majored in physics and computer science at MIT, and is now studying education reform at Stanford.
