I used to write the flowery stuff - the advertising words to create demand and sell products fast. After almost three decades in the ad business, I sat down to write my life story and it took a life of its own, creating a top-selling series for the most stubborn alcoholics.

It’s a memoir told as a story; a story so twisted that it took seven books to reveal the mountains of ups and downs, and the heartaches of success and failure.

The story begins with my first drink at age 13, in the fall of 1972, and ends with a happy-but-not-sappy step into true grace and serenity. Buckle in for a zany tour through five fucked-up decades of my life – a saga about getting drunk, getting sober, and the quest for a calm and happy life.

I live in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains in East Tennessee with my child Norman the Schnauzer. If I’m not writing or at a Serenity Sisters meeting, you’ll find me in my quilting studio or assaulting fabric with an embroidery needle.
