Claude Forthomme

Claude Forthomme is an ESG expert and Senior Editor, regularly contributing to Impakter Magazine, a widely read online news outlet reporting on sustainability and human rights issues, notably One Health. A graduate of Columbia University's School of Economics, Claude Forthomme began working on Wall Street, then quickly moved to college teaching (the American University in Rome) and to the United Nations, where she ended her career in the early 2000s as the Director of the Food and Agriculture Organization's Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia (headquartered in Rome at the time); here she successfully assisted FAO's Eastern European member countries with projects supporting their transition from the Soviet-style centralized economic model to market economies; she also promoted food safety in Europe through a well-attended European continent-wide conference in Budapest, co-hosted with the World Health Organization. After retiring from the UN, she authored many works of fiction under various pen names in both English and Italian, as a "hybrid author", engaged in both traditional and self-publishing.

All her self-published titles are currently unavailable (unpublished on Amazon, to be re-edited), and at the time of writing, the two books she wrote in Italian that were traditionally published in Italy are out of print. One was a prize-winning children's book titled "Le Avventure di Guendolina e Casimiro" (published in 1991 by Ellemme, Rome). The other was a historical romantasy -yes, long before the genre became popular - set in Sicily called "Un Amore Dimenticato" (Forgotten Love), widely praised when it came out in 2008 (published by E.Romeo, Syracuse). In the early 2010s, she was considered a prime exponent of Boomer literature with her "second life" novel titled "Crimson Clouds" that closely tracked her own experience as an aspiring artist (she paints); at the time, she also founded a highly popular Boomer Lit Group on Goodreads. In 2012, she had the honor of having her poetry included in "Freeze Frame", an international poetry anthology of British and American poets, curated by British poet Oscar Sparrow (published by Gallo Romano Media , UK, available on Amazon).

Stay tuned! Claude is currently finalizing a new book, a YA adventure set in Mexico that takes readers back in time to the ancient Aztecs, and will let all her friends and followers know as soon as it comes out.
