The author is a research physicist at the Department of Mathematical Physics of the University of São Paulo. He holds a PhD degree from Yale University, and works on theoretical physics, mostly on theoretical quantum field theory, including a computational component. He has also done some work on mathematics, and is also something of a free-software, open-hardware computer enthusiast and expert.
The books in this series were written and formatted using exclusively free software under the Linux operating system. However, for the electronic publication on Amazon the Amazon tool "Kindle Textbook Creator" had to be used under Windows, because unfortunately Amazon does not provide a version of this tool for Linux.
Feedback to the author about the books can be sent via email to delyra@latt.if.usp.br. If a reader finds and points out any relevant error in any of the books, it will be corrected and the correction will be included in the next version of the relevant book, with a short note of thanks to the reader.
The second volume of this series has just been published. The third volume is currently in the very early stages of translation to English.
