Rather than continue on to college right after high school, Rod M. Kuntz chose to hunt coyotes and work as a ranch hand. His life took a fundamental turn when he joined the Montana Army National Guard and discovered his aptitude for military tactics, teaching and leadership. He turned down an offer for a Senatorial recommendation to West Point but later joined the ROTC program at the U of M. He quickly earned the respect of his professors and classmates as a natural and inspirational leader, earning the National Platoon Leadership Award at Advanced Camp, and the Distinguished Military Student Award. To everyone’s surprise, he followed an unexplained prompting in his heart and turned down his commission.
Rod earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in English Literature, with honors, in only three and a half years. In true renaissance fashion, he spent the next few decades exploring several occupations where he became a successful retail manager, a regional training director for a multilevel marketing company, a high school English teacher, and a supervisor in the health and fitness industry, before focusing on commission sales where he was able to put all of his skills to work.
Convinced that people should work smarter, not harder, he built a sales team using the principles found in The W.A.R.P.A.T.H. Alliance. For eight years his team out-performed, out-produced, and out-earned their full-time contemporaries while they worked part-time.
Kuntz currently resides in northwest Montana with his midwife, wife of 29 years. They enjoy a minimalist lifestyle that is focused on faith, family, and life-long learning. They enjoy the changing of seasons, the strength produced by adversity, and the joy of growing young. In addition to writing, Rod serves on the City Council, he holds 11 trademarks, runs a wholesale business, and assists his wife with her other marketing business.
