Jacqueline D. Poe was born in Lorain, Oh. to Lisa McCracken and Michael Lankey.
At the age of 3, her parents split up and the upside down life she was given had begun.
While she was born in Ohio, she was raised all over the place, as her mother moved them around a lot.
She had tons of bad experiences and withstood a lot of pain. She was raised to understand that nothing could be done about the bad things that were happening. That it didn't matter because it was her and she wasn't worth worrying about. It was set in stone, as they say, that all of it was meant to be and she truly believed that to be true. Despite everything that happened to her, she could not stand for any of it to happen to anyone else. She knew she was strong and she knew for a fact that she could handle anything that life had to throw at her. She knew the things happening to her were wrong, she just didn't feel that anyone cared so she kept everything inside, all the pain and all the torture, locked inside never to be found. But, hiding stuff so deep inside yourself, has its consequences. At the age of 13, she finally snapped and landed herself in a mental institution. There, she learned that writing down her feelings kept them secret and also got them out of her head. It was a win-win for her because she didn't trust anyone, so no way she was going to speak up. Also, writing them down kept her from blowing up so huge about the smallest issues due to holding back the feelings. Once she started learning how to forgive her mother and how to let go of the past, she decided that maybe her experiences and poems could help someone else. That is when " Rantings of a Beatiful Mind" came together.
