As a boy, Ian wanted to be a writer. More specifically, he wanted to be a novelist. Even more specifically, he wanted to be a knovelist with a silent 'K'.

Nevertheless, Ian wrote his debut novel, The Life Lived, and has since completed two further novels despite pleas from the literary community to cease and desist. Ian's flash fiction has appeared alongside Salman Rushdie and Margaret Atwood in the anthology, Tales On Tweet, and he performed his short story work twice at the Edinburgh International Book Festival. Several short stories have featured on online literary publications, one recently being longlisted and coming Highly Commended as part of the Sandstone Press Short Story Award. Ian threatens to keep writing whenever his two young children allow him the time to do so.
