Sports and games have always been a passion of mine. In early 2016 I started playing Texas No-Limit Hold’em and gravitated towards the game quickly.
The math of the game fascinated me, so I read up on it, pulled out a statistics book from my MBA program and learned how many of the probabilities are determined. I did many equations to understand the math at a visceral level.
I initially played free roll tournaments in the Austin, Round Rock and Cedar Park, and Georgetown Texas area to learn the game without breaking the bank. I also played at casinos when possible.
I have read well over two dozen of the most highly rated books by the experts on Texas No-Limit Hold’em. Some of them I have read multiple times. I am fascinated by the strategy, complexity, and fun of the game. I continue to read, study, play, and evolve as a player.
This book contains the knowledge, experience, and insights into the math and other aspects of Texas No-Limit Hold’em that I have accumulated over time.
My primary education and professional experience is in engineering. Much of my career has been as a mechanical design and development engineer. I have also been a principal systems engineer, and a principal quality engineer.
I have a BSME from Michigan Tech University and an MBA from Pepperdine University. I am a 6-Sigma Expert and have an Advanced Communicator Gold in Toastmasters.
I live in Georgetown, Texas. Besides playing Texas No-Limit Hold’em, I enjoy dancing Argentine Tango, exercising, writing, studying the early space program, traveling and visiting with family & friends. Desiring to give back, I serve as the Chairman of the Texas Board of Advisors for the International Cancer Advocacy Network (ICAN) in the war against cancer.
