Mr Camillus John

Camillus John was bored and braised in Dublin. He has had writing published in The Stinging Fly, RTÉ Ten, The Lonely Crowd and other such organs.

You may know him from such fiction as The Woman Who Shagged Christmas, The Rise and Fall of Cinderella’s Left Testicle and, Throwing A Sausage Back and Forth for Five Minutes Without Letting it Drop, all of which are included in his fictionbook, Groin Frosties With Jazzy Hand – The Pervert’s Guide To Modern Fiction (Ballyer Press 2018).

Ballyer Press also published his poembook, Why the Privileged Need To Read Literature in 2018 and his novel, How To Be A Bicycle - From the Campaign for the Legalisation of Drugs in the Workplace for all Hard-Working Families in 2019.

Along with Declan Geraghty, he is one of the founder members of Ballyfermot Writing Group’s The Flying Superhero Clothes Horse, Europe's premier centre for conceptual art and post-punk modernism. In 2018 they published their first collection to celebration Ballyfermot’s 70th birthday with pieces from Joe Duffy, Declan O’Rourke, Jimmy Murphy, Neville Thompson and Kevin Gildea.

The Steam of My Piss is his second poembook and will be published by Ballyer Press in 2019.

He would also like to mention that Pats won the FAI cup in 2014 after 53 miserable years of not winning it.
