Ellen Williams, Ed.D.

Ellen Williams, Ed.D. is an author and educational consultant. Dr. Williams worked for over 35 years in public education as a classroom teacher, a gifted and talented coordinator, and as an Advanced Academics Senior Director. She became a consultant with aha! Process in 2017. She co-authored the 3rd edition of Removing the Mask: Identifying and Developing Giftedness in Students from Poverty.

A graduate of Texas A&M University with a B.S. in Curriculum and Instruction, Dr. Williams earned her Master's degree from St. Thomas University in Gifted and Talented Education. Her doctoral dissertation for Lamar University was a qualitative study of what accelerated gifted adolescents found stressful during high school.

Dr. Williams is passionate about children reaching their true potential. She has published guided journals for bright children to help them explore their thoughts and beliefs, and a guided journal for mothers to document both their children's gifted characteristics and their own parenting strategies. Her hope is that the journals will increase communication and awareness of gifted children's social and emotional needs. She writes a blog for mothers of gifted children at www.giftedchildmom.net.
