Sarah Todd Hammer

Sarah Todd Hammer was born in Atlanta, GA. When she was eight years old, she became paralyzed from the neck-down due to a rare disorder called Acute Flaccid Myelitis (AFM).

Her experience with this life-changing disease inspired her to write about her journey in order to raise awareness and encourage others. She began writing books at just the age of ten, and she published her first autobiography, "5k, Ballet, and a Spinal Cord Injury" at age eleven. At age fourteen, she published the sequel, "Determination," and at age seventeen, she published the third book in the trilogy, "Up and Down." She hopes that, through her books, her message of positivity can be spread to inspire others.
