Edd Sowder

While I was once upon a time, running the show behind the scenes at Burning Willow Press, occasionally I now get the opportunity to share a few of my own stories, poems, or other writing works with the masses.

On rare occasions, I get the opportunity to sit in on a few podcasts either with my best-selling author and wife, Kindra Sowder, or on my own, and have been seen at many conventions around the southeast USA. To learn more, check out TBKMagazine.com, The Buzz, Writer Imperfect, and the Darkness Dwells for any number of podcasts I was happy to be a part of.

I can be found on Facebook but I am rarely there. If you want to know more about me, and there is something public there, it's Facebook search "Edd Sowder".

My personal quote has for years been, "We all fall. Falling is not failing. Refusal to get back up is. I climbed back up... will you?" It is a motto I live by. I have a missing leg so it makes a lot of sense now. Especially when I fall.

After the surgery to get my leg amputated, I was being wheeled to an X-Ray room by a young nurse. It was October 15, 2014, and the hospital was covered in elementary school art for Halloween. The nurse asked me if I enjoyed Halloween as she saw me looking at the decorations and she was making small talk as they tend to do. I replied, "Why, yes. I do. It is my favorite holiday. I think that realism is the key to a perfect costume so I had my leg amputated to be a pirate this year." I have never seen anyone turn that pale before.

I have my first collection of works coming to you on June 30th, 2020. It's called Mirrors book 1: In Thine Own Heart. This is a long-awaited work for several of my closest friends and it has been a promise I wanted to keep before it was too late to do so. The earliest poem in the collective was written in 1988. The latest, 2009. The sequel, Shattered Remains will be coming out soon along with a first novel, Snow Covered (a romantic thriller with military ties).

I've been hard at work for other authors. Editing, proofreading, and even a few beta reads. I will continue to do this in the future as I feel it suits my over-analytical mind.
