Renate Barth

Renate Barth is a clinical psychologist trained in psychoanalysis and family therapy. In 1983 she emigrated from Germany to Australia. There she had her daughter Sophie who fell ill with cancer as a toddler and died. After Sophie's death Renate Barth specialized in counceling and psychotherapy of parents with infants and toddlers. She has published articles on disorders and treatment approches in early childhood and the guidebook WHAT MY CRYING BABY WANTS TO SAY TO ME. Renate Barth was a founding member of the Australian and of the German-Speaking Association of Infant Mental Health (AAIMH and GAIMH). Today she lives in Hamburg, Germany.
