Brenda E. Ramos Ortega

Brenda’s love for writing started when she was a young girl of about ten years old, inspired by some assigned works from school. She has written many short stories, short novels, essays, memories, reflections, songs, musicals and theater plays. She obtained degrees in Biology and Industrial Microbiology in the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez.

During fifteen years she worked as a microbiologist in a pharmaceutical company. She also worked as a quality control inspector, as a teacher of Science, Algebra, Mathematics, Spanish, History, Music and Choir, in levels from the first grade to middle school and as a consultant.

Brenda is the author of "Para el camino", a book of reflections about a variety of relevant themes, "El Día Que Se Perdió El Imperdible", a children’s book (and also a musical play) about the search for purpose and identity, "La extinción", a futuristic novel where the present and the past intermingle to transform the character’s lives in unimaginable ways, and "Memorias de una clase del '80", the true story of a group of teenagers narrated through anecdotes and experiences of a very united group of classmates that is close to a big change in their lives that threatens to separate them.

Presently, the author lives in the beautiful island of Puerto Rico, with her husband and her son, where she continues to write, edit and publish her works.
