Barry Wissler

Dr. Barry Wissler helped plant Ephrata Community Church and became its first Sr. Pastor. After the first twelve years of pastoring, he called the church body to embrace the model of the ancient church of Antioch as its pattern for building. Many changes to the church were made as Barry pastored the church for a total of 37 years. During this time ECC began to plant other churches and also developed a network of churches and ministries who partnered with them to fulfill the Great Commission.

This network, which today includes business leaders as well, is known as HarvestNet International. Barry eventually handed the church to Kevin Eshleman who leads the church in its ongoing evangelism and church planting. Today Barry leads HNI and gives his time to developing emerging leaders and coaching pastors and church planters around the world. He is still based in ECC and still serves as an Elder as well as an overseer to the local church. Along with his wife, he travels often to Europe and Asia to serve the churches of HNI.

Barry holds a Masters of Religion from Westminster Theological Seminary and a Doctor of Ministry from United Theological Seminary. His passion is to multiply churches and leaders who are faithful to sound doctrine, yet move in the power of the Holy Spirit. His partner in ministry is his wife, Cheryl, who travels and teaches with him.
