Michael Davi

Michael A. Davi, a native of Schenectady, grew up in a hardworking blue-collar Italian-American family during the height of America’s manned space program in the 1960s. Inspired by the excitement of the space race and guided by parents whose sacrifices made college possible, he became the first member of his family to earn an engineering degree and the first to join General Electric as a professional employee.

Over a 40-year career with GE, Michael found himself working alongside leading experts in power generation and engineering, traveled the world, and experienced firsthand the opportunities created through perseverance, education, and innovation. In PrivileGEd, he reflects on the people, challenges, and moments that shaped his remarkable journey—offering an inspiring reminder to future generations that humble beginnings can lead to extraordinary paths.
