Afshin Azari-Vala

This is a short bio relevant to the work that I have published, my academic background and interests in case you wanted to know!

After briefly pursuing studies in music at Vancouver Academy of Music, the sciences (physics and biology) at York University, and dentistry at University of Toronto, I completed my bachelor's and master's degrees in aerospace engineering at University of Toronto with unfinished studies at the level of PhD.

I have taught math to adult learners since 1992 and since 1998 I have been working on developing a new point of view on the manner in which mathematical knowledge at the level of fundamentals may be organized and taught. My textbooks are intended to promote this point of view. I currently teach math at George Brown College in Toronto, Canada.

My interests include research in analysis, math education, playing the guitar and writing short stories. I love biking, swimming, camping and people who live in a different dimension.

Thanks for taking the time to read my short bio!
