Anonymity is part of the Twelve Traditions by which Twelve Step groups govern themselves, and I wish to respect these and remain anonymous. I am a biologist by training, and an agnostic by nature. I hold a PhD in a biomedically related field, and I have roughly two decades of experience in biological research and education. Currently, I teach advanced biology courses; addiction biology is included in the topics I cover. Addiction has a complex pathology, and I admire the holistic, and very effective, approach provided by Twelve Step recovery.
