I have been reading Amish Novels for several years and one day I just decided to write one of my own. I woke up around 4 am one morning last year and two names came to my mind. Betty Anne Miller and Sara Jane King. I got up and went to the computer and started writing. I love these two ladies in this book. They are brought together at an Amish quilting group, which Betty Anne had been invited to by the Amish women. From that point on, the two women became friends and are always there for each other. Betty Anne is a Christian lady who is excepted into the Amish community and finds out she really loves these warm goodhearted people. The two women become very close as a mother and daughter and share many ups and downs through the years. The story talks a lot about baking which the Amish women love to do. And the changing of the seasons. I put those things in the book because almost every Amish novel I have read talks about recipes and baking. Seven children are born in this novel, so I am writing a sequel to Ruby Hope about the children growing up and their lives. It is called The Next Generation of Ruby Hope Valley. I am now on the 40th chapter and hoping to finish by early next year. So if you like this novel, I hope you will look forward to the next Ruby Hope Valley. I'm getting very excited as the day get closer to the release of Ruby Hope. The name Ruby came from my mother, Ruby Williams, who passed away in 2002. I wanted to name my first novel after this sweet loving woman whom I miss so much. Her memory and life will go on in this book. On December the first I had a great book signing at Liberty Books in Lawrenceville Ga. It was a very rainy day, but family and friends came out anyway to support me. I'm still working on the second edition of Ruby Hope Valley, the next Generation. Everyone that has read Ruby Hope Valley says they loved it and can't wait for the next book come out. I am hoping with all my heart that Black Rose Writing will publish my next book. Ruby Hope Valley was a learning experience for me, so I hope my next novel will be much better. You learn as you go as they say and that's what I'm doing.
