I love reading and my family and I love having adventures together. We live in Charleston, South Carolina and enjoy going to the beach, taking walks, reading outside on our rocking chairs and playing with our rescue dogs, Angel and Bailey. I have always loved writing but recently my writing has turned into rhyming poems and stories. My newest book, "Bear With Us", is a true story that came about from one of our adventures. A few years ago I heard there was a hurricane barreling towards us. I loaded up the kids, the animals and my parents and we headed to the mountains of Sevierville, TN. Once we finally got there we unloaded the car and unbeknownst to us a HUGE black bear had crawled into the car! You don't want to miss what happened next! My family and I have told this story numerous times over the years and I knew I wanted to turn it into a children's book from the bear's perspective. When the kids had to stay home from school in March 2020 I stayed home with them and began to write this story. When I had finished the entire story my husband told me to get back to work and tell the story from the human's perspective. I did just that! I hope you love this funny and true story told from both the bear's and the human's perspective!
