Dr Janet was the oldest daughter born into a huge farm/ranch family on the Standing Rock Indian Reservation in South Dakota. She worked in a photographer studio after quitting college to get married and raise a family. As things go, that lasted a few years before she 'advanced' into a better job of loading and unloading mail trucks at a small processing facility. Eventually, she froze enough to relocate to Wisconsin and seek indoor work--still within the USPS. The job was one in which she could apply all of the managerial skills learned at the hand and direction of her mother years ago. After 34 years, she took the experience along with the education received through the decades, and put it all to work in a non-paying job--as a hospice volunteer.
Her first book shines a light, and some sweet stories, on those experiences and the lessons learned. You will find helpful tools in this book titled I'm Sorry, I Love You, Goodbye: harvesting the sacred gifts of the final days. Readers claim it elicits emotions as well as many long-forgotten memories. It's written in simple, touching language and has a message for those facing an impending death of a loved one.
Her next book is Voices of the 21st Century: Women who influence, inspire and Make a Difference is a powerful collection of stories from women who do just that--Make a Difference in this world.
Life just gets better as every day is infused with gratefulness, appreciation, and blessings. That alone makes a huge difference!
