Karen Young Foley was born and raised on the beautiful Eastern Shore of Virginia. A graduate of the University of Virginia, she started her career in education as an English teacher and subsequently earned her Ed.S. in Administration from the University of Virginia. After working as an assistant principal at the elementary and secondary levels, she recently retired from her role as Coordinator of Professional Learning for Northampton County Public Schools. She is a National Board Certified Teacher and a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She resides on Church Creek with her husband Jack. She has one son, Tye, and two grandchildren, Sutherlyn and Tip.
