Candice Smith

Candice Smith is an internationally read writer with thousands of articles to her credit. She is the creator of Chief 187™Chatter known for her articles about Simple Joys, the Friday Music Blog, and other musings.

Formerly Candice worked in the world of Motorsports where she wrote articles about NASCAR and IndyCar. She created and helmed a website and Internet Radio program entitled Drafting the Circuits where she scheduled and interviewed drivers and other personalities in the world of racing including the legendary Mario Andretti, NASCAR Hall of Famer Bobby Allison, IndyCar legend Bobby Unser, 10-time ARCA champion Frank Kimmel, and Indianapolis 500 champion Alexander Rossi among scores of others In addition, Candice secured media credentials for Drafting the Circuits to cover races from the Indianapolis 500 to the United States Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas, and NASCAR races at Texas Motor Speedway, Kentucky Speedway, Las Vegas Motor Speedway, and Pocono International Raceway.

Candice’s articles about her “Simple Joys” resonated with her readership. When she employed the question, “What are your Simple Joys?” in the NASCAR world the responses became fodder for television and radio spots as well as print articles. Responses from Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Kyle Busch were constantly repeated throughout several different seasons.

Candice is married to her high school sweetheart, Ryan Smith. They have three children, Matthew, Gregory, and Rosemilee, and live in beautiful northern New Jersey. In addition to writing Candice enjoys reading, swimming in Lake Hopatcong, Christmas planning year round, a passion for jewelry, and spending quality time with her family. A former high school and middle school teacher of history and social studies, and current paraprofessional in a K-8 district where she runs the library and works with children in the classroom, Candice also served on her town’s Board of Education that maintains a K-12 district for two full terms. She was then appointed to the Board of Trustees of Sussex County Community College where she is currently serving a four year term. Candice maintains her background in education has made her successful as a writer, interviewer, radio personality, and author.
