When I was roughly five years old, the Lord of Bones (yes, the demonic entity featured in my books) tried to get me. Something seen at the end of a dark hall in the shadows of an empty room. Something a boy, then thrown into a panic, would never forget. It was a very close call, as the author photo depicts, and an inspirational one. The short story is that my grandmother saved me—thank God for grandmothers. The long story... well, I'll tell it all one day soon... and yes, it's a true story. For now, I’ll simply thank the young actor in my author photo who looks exactly as I looked at that age (I’ve safely made it into adulthood, you see.) And honestly, while the incident I refer to was terrifying, I have to give some thanks there too, as it is among the original inspirations for my horror writing and ultimately The Lord of Bones book series. And with that, I’ll return this transmission to the more standard and expected flow of an author’s bio—
C.J. Faust is the author and creator of The Lord of Bones book series, which has been praised as: “A re-invention of demonic horror” by the editors of INS Productions. As, “Sick and dope!” by L. Craigg (The Jack of all Tracks). And as an “Exciting and terrifying,” full blown effort to, “traumatize readers with terror, featuring the best horror big-bad in years,” by K. McDowell. Published in a host of genre publications wherever dark and disturbing are on demand, he lives in the sunshine state with his wife, Olivia, and his daughter, Leanna. They, along with the weather, help him keep the darkness in check.
