Christie Daugherty

My passion is teaching hand and iPad lettering to women with faith being the main focus. I encourage my students and followers that it's more about the process than the end result. The more you practice, the better you will get. Enjoy the journey and don't be too hard on yourself. Making handmade items can be so gratifying and when you use them for gift giving it can show your friends and family how much they mean to you.

I started with a degree in Education and quickly learned that art was the missing part to my students education. At the time, we didn't have art teachers. I made it my passion to teach art through all subjects.

When I had my first child I became a stay at home mom. During that time I lead a craft group of approximately 120 women and I saw the relationships that were made during our creative time together. It helped women connect in a relaxing, comfortable environment.

Fast forward a few years...I became a creative coach for a paper crafting company. I owned and taught art classes at my art studio for 8 years. During this time I was asked to teach paper crafting on a cruise ship and a stage of 300 attendees several times. Eventually, I closed my studio and wanted to spend more time at home while my kids were still living at home and needing me. I opened an Etsy shop and did all my crafting from home.

Currently, my husband and I are almost empty nesters. This led me to have an online business called Create with Christie. I teach a segment on my Facebook page every Monday called Devos & Doodles. Come join me!
