Robert Steven Drake

Dr. Robert Steven Drake was born in Savanna, Illinois in May of 1951. Having grown up on the Upper Mississippi River with four brothers, four sisters, and very close cousins, Drake spent every summer exploring every inch of Savanna and the Palisades State Park. The harsh northern Illinois winters made for lots of fun and sometimes dangerous sledding, but Drake and his close-knit family members somehow survived all of the many close calls they encountered. Dr. Drake completed his Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Business Management with the University of Maryland, European Division in 1980, his Master of Arts (MA) degree in Management with Webster University in 1983 and his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Curriculum and Instruction through the Kansas State University's School of Education in 2002. Drake spent almost three years on active duty with the U.S. Army, including 21 months in Vietnam. He transferred to the U.S. Air Force in 1971 and retired in 1990. Drake last worked as a GS-13 Program Manager for the U.S. Army's Human Resources Command (HRC) at Fort Knox, Kentucky where he ran the world-wide Army Personnel Testing (APT) Program. He retired from the HRC in 2013. Dr. Drake has been married to Sue T. Drake for the last 48 years. They met in Vietnam during his second tour. Together they have two sons, one daughter and five grand-children.
