William Reader

William Reader was born in Hamlet, NC. The second of seven boys to Luther and Bernice Reader. While in college he was fortunate enough to meet the most phenomenal woman God ever created, his wife Margaret C. Reader. They have been blessed with two marvelous children, Nikki (Steven) and Douglas (Shurrell). So far they have four heart robbing grand-children, Amani, Dominic, Trinity and Joshua. Though he was generally the one who was sickly, he never backed away from a challenge. Because of the providential hand of God, William was raised during a time of segregation as well as the transitioning to desegregation. Life at the edges was both unique and exciting. Because of what he experienced, William has forever had a desire to help those in need, as well as see every person reach their full potential and be the best they can be. This driving desire has taken William from rural North Carolina to places far and wide, encouraging people of all nationalities to remind all of us, that God has great things in store for each and every individual. His journey through life has taken him from Capital Highway Elementary School, to Richmond Senior High School, on to The University of North Carolina where he received his B.A. in Sociology, to Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary where he earned a Master of Divinity Degree. Because he has always wanted to see the crooked ways of our lives straightened, William furthered his knowledge by continuing studies at Regent University towards a Doctor of Ministry degree. William does not think of himself as special, just as someone who is available to encourage others. Forever believing that Grown Folk do what Grown Folk want to do, William continues to encourage us all too ever move forward towards our destiny.
