Shontra Powell

Shontra Powell is a passionate leader of people. As a seasoned global executive with more than 25 years of experience in business, she is dedicated to helping others navigate their career journeys. She believes people can live their best life while serving in multiple roles, both in the workplace and their personal life. She shares this message in her new book: Proven Not Perfect: 7 Truths of a Corporate Executive, Mommy, Wife, and Christian.

As the Vice President of Sales Strategy & Operations at Hertz, Shontra focuses on developing high-performance teams, driving revenue growth, and mentoring young talent. She is especially interested in providing career guidance for women and minorities.

Before working at Hertz, Shontra served as the Chief Operations Officer for the American Society of Quality. Prior to that, she spent many years at GE and Johnson Controls Inc., working her way up to Vice President of Global Commercial Operations for the Americas, Europe, and Asia. Shontra has held increasing P&L responsibility.

Shontra has served on many boards over the years, and she enjoys advising businesses in a range of areas, such as transformation, M&A, integration, and execution strategies for growth.

Shontra received her MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Business. She is married and has three children.
