Keith Marlow

Keith Marlow, PhD, has been working in the software engineering and systems architecture space for over 15 years. He has an Honours Degree in Pure Computer Science and a PhD in Information Systems.

He got involved in computer security whilst working at Yahoo! and became an engineer, a Paranoid (security engineer) as well as the Chief Architect for Asia. He got to see directly how security & architecture are very much interdependent and can be mutually supporting if done right. He gained valuable insights into how hackers think and operate and what motivates them. In turn, he designs systems that are secure from the ground up and able to resist attacks.

Keith has designed large scale cloud based systems that process millions of dollars of transactions as well as systems that have dealt with the personal records of millions of individuals. So giving him a unique perspective on how to design systems to keep personal information secure whilst allowing businesses to evolve and grow their online services in safety.

He also has an interest in physical security and in particular how well security is set up in offices...

Keith is passionate about computer security and architecture. He is a full member of both the British and Australian computer societies and a member of AISA. He lives in Sydney Australia where he consults with businesses on security & architecture computing issues.
