Rishon "Mz Stylez" Carter

This book has inadvertently become a large part of my healing, and although it is listed as fiction, there is an element of truth that surrounds my pages. I began writing Concrete Flowers From Pain to Power as a way to release the pain I myself was experiencing. Shawnie Simmons the main Character of the book was created out of a deep need to express so much of what I had undergone. This entire process from writing to self-publishing has empowered me and given me the courage to truly take my voice back. Using it to help others; encouraging survivors of abuse to step up and step out into their shine. It wasn't until my daughter Knowledge was born that I truly realized my responsibility and my purpose. There are no strange happenings, every trial and tribulation, every, lesson, season, reason and blessing is all preparation for what is to come.
