William M. Selvey

William Selvey is a World War II Veteran who served as a member of the Army Air Force (AAF), stationed in Germany from 1945-1946. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Concord University, a Master of Science in Biology from West Virginia University, and a Master of Science in Hospital Administration from the Medical College of Virginia/Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine.

He is recognized as a founding member of the Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters in Norfolk, Virginia, where he was the hospital’s first administrator in 1961. Today, it is known as the leading children’s hospital in southeastern Virginia and the only free-standing children’s hospital in the state.

After retiring, he and Bertie Sue Selvey, his wife of 42 years, co-owned and operated The Kensington Bed and Breakfast for 29 years. They hosted many authors visiting the Richmond area and a few celebrities in town to shoot movies.

At 92 years young, Bill writes songs that he performs with his baritone ukulele. Parallel Reality is his first book as an author. He lives in Richmond, Virginia.
