Raquel Martinez

I am Raquel Martinez, born in the Dominican Republic and emigrated to the USA in 1987. I am an artist at heart, acrylic is my preferred medium. I enjoy nature and taking pictures of nature. Currently Louisville KY is my home. I love to travel and explore exotic places. We have lived in many states, from 1994 to the present, we have lived in NY, PA, MD, TN, CA, MA, and KY. I love the rain and bodies of water. My favorite female artist has been Frida Kahlo, and visited her museum home in Mexico in 1991 (but it was closed for repairs). I've met Political and human rights activist from Guatemala, Rigoberta Menchu. My first job in the USA was at the Bronx Zoo, loved the experience. I lived in Spain for one semester during my college years, amazing experience. I had the privilege to work one summer with artist Tim Rollins and K.O.S. their work is fascinating. I have walked a life of faith in Christ since 1996, and love every minute of it. I aspire to leave a legacy of HOPE.
