Hi,

My name is Devin. Thanks for taking a look at my author's page. Here's a little bit about me.

I am married to my wife of over 10 years, Brittney and we have 2 sons, JC and Luke, and we live about 30 minutes south of Seattle.

We spend a lot of time with friends and family, playing sports, skiiing, golfing, watching Disney movies and just enjoying each other and life.

I was in the military planning on going into active duty when I met Brittney at the University of Washington and the rest is history. I got out of the military and decided to stay in Washington. Meeting the love of your life will do that to you!

My first book, well really both books, was born out of pain. I was in a job transition that came very unexpectedly. I was so used to being the one doing the recruiting, interviewing and hiring and now here I was on the job market and needing a job quickly to support my family.

Being in that experience gave me a new found respect for what job seekers go through and it was lonely, frustrating, humiliating and aggravating. So I felt compelled and inspired to create a resource that would help others and would share my learnings as an awarded recruiting and hiring manager to help give job seekers a leg up. Thus the book Your Resume Wont Get You a Job was born.

Writing was really enjoyable for me so I decided to write the book that I felt was my hallmark, or life's work book. Then Super Manager was written. This book covers all the topics I'm most passionate about and that I speak, consult, teach, train and coach on.

My hope is that Super Manager does it's part to help in making workplaces more healthy, functional, authentic and constructive. Because of course, like most people, I've experienced a decent amount of pain from unhealthy bosses and workplaces.

I do plan to continue to write. I think the next books will be on other topics I'm passionate about like parenting, teamwork, workplace culture. So we'll see. Be on the lookout.
