Andre D. Rossouw

Andre Rossouw simply had an epiphany one day to start writing. He was born in South Africa and speaks both English and Dutch fluently. He won best essay of the year in his last year of school with a fable titled “The Jackal and the Hare” which was about a lengthy civil court hearing that took place with a Jackal being the plaintiff and the Hare the defendant. The Jackal's claim was that he was entitled to eat the Hare when hungry and the Hare defended himself as to why it was NOT the Jackals right to eat him when hungry. The judge and jury all consisted of a mixture of animals. It was a very interesting subject that had an unpredictable outcome for most. Andre stated the following: “I always knew I could write stories and novels but despite the school award I avoided writing for many years thinking that I probably would not be great at it”. He could not have been further from the truth.

Andre also pursued other avenues in life from music to inventor to being an entrepreneur. It was later in his life that he decided to finally write again, and I couldn't be more pleased.

This particular book shows a writing style that (for me) puts it up there with some of the finest writers. Simple yet awesome! Its the kind of book that makes you think about it long after you've read it literally. Each story captivates and intrigues, and then surprises. Simply a must read. This book makes for a great bedtime book to curl up with (or not).
