Dr. Ada Crosby

Ada Elaine Crosby was born in Pascagoula, Mississippi, later breaking a family tradition by not attending a HBCU but instead attended the University of Southern Mississippi where she earned two degrees. She served briefly in the US Air Force, one of few women who worked for Martin Marietta as a Training Instructor on the now defunct Pershing II Missile at Fort Sill OK. For 25 years she provided mental health assessments for male offenders as a Forensic Mental Health Specialist for FL Dept of Corrections where she also assisted in implementing a correctional palliative end of life program for dying inmates. She considers herself a social justice advocate for the marginalized.
