Why did I write about Emma having a feeding tube?

Over ten years ago, my daughter suffered from severe stomach pain and was later diagnosed with a rare gastro disorder and placed on a feeding tube.

Feeling alone and not knowing what to do, I had to learn how to navigate meal prep, grocery stores, and school. I also looked around and realized that there weren't many books to educate children and adults about children with food allergies and especially with feeding tubes.

I wrote Emma's Special Tummy to show other children that they aren't alone on this journey and show other people that they are just like them.

This book is the first of the Emma's Special series. The Emma doll and other Emma's Special books will be available in the near future.
