As a man from an old Virginia family I have both heard and seen how the South works. After writing boring but important and needed manuals for a major corporation I decided to write what i like . I retired and struck out on my quest. I had always loved writing and it started to flow naturally from my heart. at times it made me cry and then it would make me laugh. I tried to touch the reader with something they found related to themselves. And after my first book , a self help book I got into what I really love, historical fiction.And history is exciting when you base it on characters that may have lived it. I even wrote in the slang of the day . I explore the taboo of the day , maybe even a little bit of it today, black and white intimate relations I expose the ways , often times crooked , in which things operated in the Civil War era and beyond. I also show how women were starting to take a roll in business and many were doing quit well at it. My family at first were a little scepticle but as they red some of the work they came around. I lost my wife after trying everything to save her but events surpassed all our effort. And I only wish she is reading it now , somewhere ? She was a most beautiful woman , a good mother and wife. I will dedicate this book to her and my daughter whom I love dearly. Most of my books are written for women and about women And I think this part of the 21 century will be dominated by women.
