Jamal El Ali, MBA, PMP, CySA+, CSM, is a project management leader, educator, and researcher with over 25 years of cross-industry experience navigating complex systems—human and technological alike. He is also a kidney transplant recipient, an experience that has shaped his perspective on time, decision-making, and intentional living.
A PMI Authorized Training Partner Instructor and university faculty member, Jamal has taught thousands of professionals across Canada and internationally, designing and delivering courses on project recovery, adaptive leadership, agile thinking, and strategic planning. He has led strategic transformations for global organizations such as Lufthansa Airlines, TD Bank, CIBC, and Barnes & Noble, often at the intersection of technology, organizational change, and human impact.
Jamal is currently pursuing a PhD in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, with a research focus on the psychological and behavioral impacts of Artificial Intelligence, particularly in the workplace. His work explores how AI influences attention, anxiety, motivation, and identity, offering insight into how individuals can remain grounded and effective amid rapid digital acceleration.
He is also certified in cybersecurity and digital forensics, giving him a unique understanding of AI’s ethical, behavioral, and security dimensions. His diverse professional and academic background allows him to connect emerging technologies with fundamental human needs such as agency, clarity, and purpose.
Jamal writes not only from expertise, but from lived experience. His approach is grounded in practice, shaped by research, and driven by the belief that in the Age of AI, personal strategy is no longer optional—it is essential.
Jamal lives in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, and teaches at Toronto Metropolitan University, the University of Toronto, York University, and Humber Polytechnic.
He actively contributes to community and global well-being through volunteer work. He lends his project leadership expertise to Project Managers Without Borders (PMWB), a global initiative of the Project Management Institute that supports nonprofit organizations worldwide. He also serves with the Transplant Ambassador Program, offering guidance and support to transplant patients and donors across Canada, and contributes to the Kidney Patient and Donor Alliance Canada, advocating for patient-centered research and policy for those affected by chronic kidney disease (CKD).
