Kieran Francis Murphy

Kieran Murphy was born into a large Catholic family in Melbourne Australia. He grew up amid the rapid transformation of the church in the Vatican Council era. In 1977 he joined the Charismatic Movement where he became committed to a life engaged with the Holy Spirit.

Kieran is an accomplished singer and has played played organ and piano and sung at churches since 1978. His great love is for Southern Gospel music. From 1980 to 1985 he was the Librarian of the Catholic Library. He served in various roles in several prayer groups.

Kieran married Marilena in 1983, so they have been married for thirty-five years and have four adult children. In 1985 Kieran and Marilena founded the largest what was to become Catholic Charismatic group in Australia. In 1987, Kieran served as Manager of Administration for Scripture Union. He and Marilena operated a Christian Bookshop for a number of years, before he served as Pastor of Banner of Love Christian Fellowship.

Kieran recognizes himself as a member the Christian church, above being a member of a specific denomination, and is happy to worship in many Christian churches. He believes solidly in Biblical truth, and that God is actively involved in our lives today. His writing is inspired by creating characters who believe in these same things, in a world that desires to extinguish God.
