Jylene Morgan

Jylene Morgan is a retired educator. She is passionate about the importance of reading aloud to children from top quality children’s books. Writing about her life experiences she captivates her audience by telling the tales of her family’s adventures. The first several books are written about funny exchanges that occur when human and wild animal’s lives come together.

Jylene has always had a love of reading. When she was young she was supposed to be helping clean the house. Her mother found her curled up in a chair reading a very good book. She shook her finger at her and told her, “ You will never amount to a hill of beans until you learn to put down your book and work.” Later they often laughed about that day because reading and books have been Jylene's life’s work.

Jylene graduated from Utah State University with a major in Elementary Education and a minor in library Science. She completed her Masters Degree along with an Educational Administrator certificate from Idaho State University.

Jylene’s teaching experience was in first, second, fourth and sixth grades. She taught in both Challis and Blackfoot, Idaho. She also taught Title One Federal Reading Programs in seven and eighth grades. During that time she served on the State of Idaho Right to Read Program. She then became team leader for Idaho State University Teacher Corps where she supervised interns studying to be elementary teachers. Jylene served twenty-two years as an Elementary Principal. As a principal she was instrumental in getting libraries started in each of the elementary schools in Blackfoot School District. She also served as the director and coordinator of the Districts Library Program.
