Keri K. Stephens

Keri K. Stephens is Professor of Organizational Communication & Technology and Co-Director Technology & Information Policy Institute at The University of Texas at Austin. For over 20 years her research has brought together different strands of communication inquiry: i.e., mobile technologies, organizations, crisis/disasters, and health. She has authored over 100 peer-reviewed publications appearing in prestigious journals including Communication Theory, Mobile Media & Communication, Human Machine Communication, Journal of Computer-Mediated Communication, and Management Communication Quarterly (MCQ). Her two most recent books (Negotiating Control: Organizations and Mobile Communication (Oxford U Press) and New Media in Times of Crisis (Routledge) have won three national-level awards, and she has received 23 top-paper panel awards. Her research has garnered over 10 million USD in external funding, she has given over 30 international and US-based keynote talks, and gave a TEDxTalk about her research.
